STAFF PROFILES
Tracey Cook – Senior Insurance Broker
Tracey has developed an in-depth knowledge of insurance industry throughout a 15-year career. Her personal experience has been complemented by a commitment to ongoing professional development which has included completion of a Diploma of Insurance Broking. Tracey specialises in commercial, marine and professional indemnity insurance and also plays a key role in managing our renewal processing activity.
Outside of work, Tracey enjoys spending time with family, travelling and exercising at the gym.
Carol Shadlow – Domestic Insurance Advisor
Carol joined the Piranha team in 2008 and is one of our valued team members managing our domestic risk portfolio. Carol has her Tier 2 qualifications in General Insurance and provides administration and account support for personal insurance products including home, motor and house.
Carol’s main focus outside of work is her family and she is very busy supporting her sons who play all types of football up to representative level.
Lorraine Tree – Administration
Lorraine provides tremendous support to our customers leveraging over 23-years experience in the financial services industry.
Lorraine’s role includes handling the processing of payments, Banking and internal accounting tasks. Lorraine also processes payments to our Underwriters and helps out with the general day to day duties.
Outside work, Lorraine enjoys gardening and cutting up perfectly good material and putting it together again to make quilts.
Hannah White – Insurance Broker – Currently on maternity leave
Hannah has been with the Piranha team since 2012 and specialises in domestic and farm insurance. She has a passion for professional development and commitment to high-quality service. She has completed Tier 1 & 2 qualification in General Insurance.
Outside the office, Hannah enjoys traveling and spending time with family, friends and her two Border Collies.
Morgan Matthews – Domestic Insurance Advisor
Morgan provides administrative support and assists with Domestic Insurance cover. Morgan is a quick learner and enjoys helping her team members provide exceptional service to clients. Morgan has completed a Certificate III in Insurance Broking and is studying for her Tier 1 qualification in General Insurance.
Away from work Morgan enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Elise Safstrom – Domestic Insurance Advisor
Elise joined the Piranha team in 2017 and assists with Domestic Insurance cover. Elise has attained her Tier 2 General Insurance Certificate.

Astrid West – Domestic Insurance Advisor
Astrid joined the Piranha team in 2017 and assists with Domestic Insurance cover. Astrid has attained her Certificate III in Insurance Broking.
Away from work Astrid enjoys spending her time with family and friends and has an interest in Quarter Horses.
Heather Peirano – Operations Manager
Heather established Piranha’s with her husband, Peter, in 1978. Nearly 40 years on, she remains as energetic and passionate as ever. Heather is a tireless advocate for the industry and actively supports the central Queensland community by influencing the policy agenda of insurers and government alike. She is a board member of both Capricorn Enterprises and the Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers. Reflecting her standing in the insurance industry, Heather was recently appointed to the board of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA).
Outside of her busy work schedule, Heather enjoys travelling, reading, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Ross Hudson – Compliance Officer & Business Insurance Broker
Ross joined Piranha Insurance Brokers in 1997 and has become a specialist in liability cover and business insurances. As the compliance officer for the business, Ross has a strong attention to detail and can assist with all commercial insurance enquiries, claims and advice. A stalwart of Rugby, both as former player and lover of the game, Ross spends his time outside work barracking for the North Queensland Cowboys.
Nathan Peirano – Insurance Broker
Nathan joined Team Piranha in September 2003 and is our resident drag racer and therefore motorsports insurance expert. Nathan’s role includes quoting and product placement for commercial motor, plant & machinery, business, office & public liability insurance. Nathan is also manager of the ‘Real Deal’ Motor Sports Insurance. It’s the perfect insurance product for a man whose life outside of work is driving for the Piranha Racing team.
